Description

This IWC Ingenieur “Mission Earth” watch was released as joint venture between IWC and environmentalist David Rothschild in order to bring awareness to the use of plastic waste and the disastrous affect it has on our oceans.

The watch case is built like a tank and made to be worn in the most extreme environments. The hands and hour markers are large and coated with luminous material, making the watch highly legible in all settings. The dial features a tiled brick-like pattern typical of the Ingenieur range.

As expected, the integrated stainless-steel bracelet is solidly built and has an attractive brushed-steel appearance. As an added bonus, it is easy to adjust, requiring the use of only two pins (think something like a toothpick) to add and remove links. Easy once you know how.

The Ingenieur range of watches was originally designed by the most legendary watch designer in history, Gérald Genta, and this reference IW3236-04 piece doesn’t stray far from the original.

Powering the watch is the IWC calibre 80110 featuring hacking centre seconds, date display and IWC’s Pellaton automatic winding system.

The watch has just had a complete service by IWC at a cost of $1,400 and accordingly is in excellent working condition. The watch is covered by IWC’s two-year service warranty until February 2024. Paperwork from the service is also provided with the watch (not pictured).

The recently polished case is in very good restored condition showing signs of wear on the case and bracelet.

The watch comes with an IWC travel pouch, operation instructions manual and two additional bracelet links (not pictured).

The watch has been tested and inspected for performance and is in excellent working condition.
