Description
This Dark Side of the Moon Pitch Black is a super stealth version of the iconic Speedmaster produced entirely from black ceramic. Omega (and Swatch Group in general) has been a pioneer in the use of the ceramic material in watchmaking, and the Dark Side of the Moon series of Speedmasters has been one of the most successful examples to have hit the market. The benefits are clear; half the weight of steel, highly scratch-resistant, chemically inert, non-allergenic, non-magnetic and can be made in a wide variety of colours. Truly, a dream watchmaking material. The ceramic dial has a matte finish which compliments the finish of the circular-grained bezel and sets these elements apart from the gloss-finished case exterior. The result is easy legibility when viewed from any angle and an overall ultra-modern appearance. This watch is exactly what one pictures when thinking of a space-faring watch. The watch is, of course, a real treat to look at in the day, but it’s at night when it really comes to life. Practically all the dial, hand and bezel elements are coated with Super-LumiNova luminous material, giving the watch a comfortable, warming glow throughout the night. Powering the watch is the Omega calibre 9300, an automatic movement featuring Co-Axial escapement, silicon balance spring, 60 hours power reserve and column-wheel chronograph function. The movement is visible through the sapphire display case-back and is as beautiful as it is functional, featuring a Geneva waves and Perlage finish on the movement plates. The movement is a COSC certified Chronometer, guaranteeing superb timekeeping performance. The watch is fitted on a matching black leather strap with ceramic folding clasp. The strap leather is supple and extremely comfortable on the wrist.

The watch is in excellent condition showing only very minor signs of wear upon close inspection.
