This Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional reference 310.30.42.50.01.001, first released in 2021, is the newest generation of Omega’s iconic Moonwatch. We all knew it was coming, and after years of guessing it has finally arrived: A classic Speedmaster Moonwatch with a calibre 3861 Co-Axial Master Chronometer movement. Omega has been slowly but surely updating its entire range of watches with the co-axial escapement, and this Moonwatch now enjoys the benefits of the co-axial escapement invented by legendary watchmaker George Daniels which has been adopted and developed to new heights by Omega. Compared to the previous version of the Speedmaster Moonwatch, almost every feature of the watch has changed, but with the exception of the bracelet which has a very different design, the changes have been subtle. Indeed, on first glance this new generation Speedmaster looks very similar to the previous. And that’s exactly what we love about it – the previous generation Moonwatch was already close to perfection, Omega would be doing the watch a disservice if it was to radically change everything. We say it often, and we mean it. If you’re looking for an extremely well-built watch that you’ll have for life and never tire of, the Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch is the watch for you. This is the "hesalite" version of the watch, making it the choice for collectors who are looking for a more historically-correct version of the Moonwatch. The watch is fitted on a stainless steel bracelet with folding clasp operated via two safety buttons. This is the updated version of the clasp with the push-button quick extension system.
