Description
For your consideration is this Rolex Cosmograph Daytona that dates to 1978. The "Big Red" dial on the watch is one of the most iconic and desirable features of any watch ever, and coupled with the 6265's all steel case and bezel, for many collectors this is a grail watch. The watch features its original/period-correct case, "Singer" dial, bezel, pushers and bracelet + clasp. The crown appears to be a later Rolex service replacement. This particular example features a very peculiar white dot on the 19th minute marker. There is a chance it could have been painted on (maybe the owner had a special affinity with the number 19?), however it could also have been done during the manufacturing process. We'll likely never know for sure, but this little oddity certainly sets it apart from the rest. Powering the watch is the Valjoux manual-wind calibre 727 which has been preserved in excellent condition.
Accessories
The watch comes with its period correct inner and outer box and card holder. Also included are Rolex service papers from 2014.
Condition
The watch is in very good condition commensurate with its age, showing light surface wear on the case and bracelet, but no large dents or knocks. Overall a very rare and well preserved example.
Warranty
Our company provides a one-year warranty on the watch.
