Description

For your consideration is this Grand Seiko Heritage Hi-Beat with “Matrix” style green stripped dial, a seldom seen and highly attractive offering released as a limited edition of only 700 pieces globablly.

Though simple in appearance, this timepiece is packed with features. The most immediate of the lot is the GMT hand, enabling the user to track an additional time zone on the watch. Powering the watch is the in-house Hi-Beat automatic-winding calibre 9S86. This Hi-Beat movement operates at 36,000 vph (5 Hz) helping ensure superb timekeeping accuracy. A date aperture at 3 o’clock completes the feature set.

As with all Grand Seiko watches, the hands on this timepiece are extraordinarily well finished due to the use of the brand’s Zaratsu polishing technique. It's no exaggeration to say the finishing on the hands of Grand Seiko watches far exceeds that seen on watches worth hundreds of thousands more. When viewed in the flesh it is truly a sight to behold.

With this Heritage Hi-Beat Matrix piece, it isn’t just the hands that are extremely well polished. With nine different highly polished facets on the case and lugs it appears almost diamond-like at certain angles. A straight-grain finish on the inner lug facets and middle facets on the sides of the case help give the watch a sense of symmetry and allow it to perfectly interface with the brush/polish finished bracelet.
