Ceramic has been touted as the new watchmaking wonder material for many years now, but there are still very few brands who have dared to make a watch in all ceramic. This Longines HydroConquest in black ceramic is Longines’ answer to the rapidly building demand for sporty diver’s watches in the material, and they’ve pulled no punches with this piece, producing an extremely compelling offering.

The watch is an expression of Longines’ modernity and creativity brought together as a whole, showing Longines can push boundaries while still fulfilling its long-term goal to be a brand that exemplifies elegance and classic watchmaking design.

One needn’t look hard to see the incredible attention to detail on this piece. One of the most interesting touches is the different finishes on each of the watch’s components: a matte dial, a polished case, a round satin bezel and a back blending a circular satin and matte finish. The ceramic folding-clasp on the watch is similarly multi-textured, with a straight grained finish on the inner folding mechanism and highly polished outer section. These details make for an extremely attractive timepiece that turns heads when worn on the wrist. 

The watch is water resistant up to 300 metres, has a unidirectional rotating bezel, screw-down crown, date function and comes on a rugged and aesthetic rubber strap. There can be no doubt this is a watch that would easily conquer the depths of the ocean.

Condition

The watch is in superb, like-new condition with the case back sticker still in place and no visible marks or scratches on the case or clasp.
