Description
This Montblanc 1858 Geosphere was released as a limited edition run of only 1858 pieces. It’s a watch that finds its inspiration in the colours of deserts, built on top of the model’s overriding spirit of mountaineering and exploration. On the dial we see two domed globes, one for each hemisphere, that rotate in opposite directions along a 24-hour scale. These allow one to track multiple timezones, giving the watch one of the most unique GMT-type functions in all of watchmaking, and certainly one of the most beautiful and captivating. But it doesn’t end there. As if the dial wasn’t special enough, the case-back is really something else. The case-back features a unique engraving in titanium of the Gobi Desert’s Flaming Cliffs. The engraving is textural and unique to the touch, feeling as if the motif has been engraved directly into the rocks that it depicts. The colours on the engraving aren't painted on, but rather are produced through laser oxidation of the titanium. This is a watch with a very special, adventurous aura, perfect for an owner who loves the outdoors and is a frequent globe trotter. Powering the watch is the Montblanc manufacture calibre MB 29.25 featuring automatic winding, 42-hour power reserve, GMT functions and quick-set date function.
