Description

This Omega Speedmaster Professional reference 522.30.42.30.06.001 was released in 2020 to commemorate the 2020 Tokyo Olympics - the Olympics that didn’t happen. Omega released five versions of this Limited Edition Speedmaster. The five pieces came in a 55 numbered boxed set and 2020 individual pieces of each colour variant. All were presented in a special commemorative Tokyo Olympic Box and were only available in Japan.

This watch from the five piece set has been nicknamed “Rising Sun” due to its resemblance to the Japanese Flag. Reviewers and collectors alike all concurred that this is the ‘most striking’ watch in the collection closely followed by the blue version. Internet images of the ‘Rising Sun’ do not do this spectacular Speedmaster justice. At first glance the dial appears whitish when in fact it is greyish/silver, similar to platinum. The bezel has a striking reddish burgundy appearance. Overall, this is a truly magnificent rendition of the faithful Speedmaster.

The 42mm case is complemented by a 3-link micro adjustable steel bracelet with folding clasp, applied logo, stepped dial and Luminova on the hands and indexes. On the sunken part of the case-back is the Tokyo 2020 medallion in bas-relief.

Accessories

The watch comes as a complete set with papers (international warranty card, pictogram card, master chronometer card), a factory plastic coffin, manual and is triple-boxed.

Condition

The watch appears to be in brand-new, unworn condition.

Warranty

The original manufacturer's warranty is valid until February 2027.
