Description
For your consideration is this modern and highly attractive Rolex Milgauss. Originally introduced in 1956, the highly-functional Milgauss was designed as an antimagnetic tool watch expressly aimed at those working around powerful magnetic fields, such as those at the CERN research facility in Geneva. The name “Milgauss” is a compound word created by Rolex, which consist of “Mil”, the French word for 1,000 and “Gauss”, a unit of measurement of magnetic fields. The Rolex Milgauss is one of the most instantly recognisable watches in the world, with its lightning-bolt orange seconds hand and sapphire crystal that is tinted green and turns nearly luminescent on its beveled edges. This particular version features an electric “Z-BLUE” dial, which has taken the watch in a new and exciting direction. The solid Oyster case is waterproof up to 100 metres, and the Oyster bracelet provides comfort and security on the wrist. The folding clasp features what is perhaps Rolex’s most user-friendly clasp system, with the clasp having a spring-loaded tilting head that can be operated with just a single finger to open and close the clasp. Powering the watch is the Rolex calibre 3131 featuring automatic winding, 48 power reserve and hacking seconds function. The movement is a COSC certified Chronometer, ensuring superb timekeeping performance. The watch is in like-new, unworn condition. The watch comes as a complete set with box and papers.
